Detailed Agendas Posted for Fall Compliance Seminars

The agendas for the Charlotte and Nashville seminars are posted to the SERC public website under the Compliance, 2010 Program, Outreach link.

August 12, 2010

SERC will be conducting a Distribution Provider and Load-Serving Entity (DP/LSE) Workshop immediately following the conclusion of the Compliance Seminar in Charlotte.   Although the agendas for the Compliance Seminar and DP/LSE Workshop have not been finalized, we anticipate the seminar concluding early afternoon on November 17, 2010, and the DP/LSE Workshop beginning approximately one hour after the conclusion of the seminar.  The DP/LSE Workshop will continue until early afternoon on November 18, 2010.  SERC will also offer the DP/LSE Workshop via web conference. (The Compliance Seminar will not be offered via web conference).

The DP/LSE Workshop is open to all SERC registered entities, but will focus on the standards that are applicable to the Distribution Provider and Load-Serving Entity functions. It is anticipated that the agendas for both the seminar and workshop will be available by late September, however, we wanted to make registered entities aware of this workshop offering now, as many entities have begun making travel arrangements for the November seminar.

The November Compliance Seminar and DP/LSE Workshop will be held in the SERC office, and because of seating limitations, SERC will limit attendance to both the seminar and workshop to the first 100 registrants.

If you have any questions, please contact Janice Carney at jcarney@serc1.org or (704) 494-7772.

Mitigation Plan News

With the launch of CITS (Compliance Issue Tracking System) and the assignment of John Wolfmeyer as the Mitigation Plan process leader, SERC now can offer entities an opportunity to have draft mitigation plans reviewed prior to formal submittal.

Mitigation Plans may be entered using the form available on the SERC portal and saved to the portal without actually submitting it to SERC.  If an entity would like to have SERC staff review the draft to ensure it meets the guidelines for submission, just send an email to jwolfmeyer@serc1.org to request a review.  John will review the saved mitigation plan using the acceptance criteria and will let you know if any changes will be required or suggested.  Note that John’s review does not constitute acceptance or approval by SERC, it will only provide some confidence that the form and content are adequate for submittal.
