SERC will be holding an industry Cold Weather Webinar on Thursday, October 1, 2020, from 9:00-12:00 p.m. (eastern). The Cold Weather Webinar will provide those Entities that register an opportunity to increase and enhance their knowledge of Cold Weather Preparedness. The Webinar will utilize the results of the 2019 SERC Winter Weather Survey, and Industry Experts across the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) and SERC, to provide insight into Cold Weather best practices for the Southern United States with a focus on Exposed Equipment, Training, Documentation, Experiences, and Lessons Learned.

This event will be of interest to staff members that have responsibility for ensuring BES equipment is operable during cold weather. While the focus will be on generator preparedness, there will also be topics of interest to Reliability Coordinators, Balancing Operators, Transmission Operators, Generation Operators and Generating Plant personnel.
To consider and explore the importance of documented cold weather plans for BES equipment from generators to control centers. Participants will explore best practices and lessons learned in protecting exposed equipment, documentation, implementation of plans, and personnel training.
